Jason Sonju
Co-Founder & Owner
As a Co-Founder and Owner, Jason brings decades of aerospace manufacturing experience to the firearm industry, by contributing to the innovation and design of Falkor's firearms and components.
Jason grew up in Kalispell, Montana. After graduating from Flathead High, he played college football for Concordia College earning a degree in pre-law. He returned to Kalispell where he went to work for his father while preparing for his LSAT test to get into law school. His father owned a three-man Auto-Body Collison and paining business.
Jason elected to stay on and work for his father rather than returning to school to become a lawyer. A few years later the business ventured into several business arenas, including anodizing, powder coating, and exotic hi-temp coatings. Soon the business expanded again in into CNC machining, primarily machining semi-conductor robotics, which eventually led to aerospace components for Boeing, Lockheed, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon Missile Systems. In 2005, the business began manufacturing firearms components, and a second subsidiary company was formed called SI Defense.
During this time Jason became efficient in CNC Programming along with Manufacturing, including aerospace AS9100 quality systems and Process Finishing. In 2013, along with his wife Melinda, they bought the businesses from his father and rebranded SI Defense to Falkor Defense. Today, Jason is involved in all phases of the businesses, from Development, Production, Sales and Marketing.
Jason and Melinda have two boys who are active in sports and the outdoors. Jason is involved in coaching basketball and Football and has been a basketball official for nearly 20 years. When not coaching or officiating, Jason enjoys the Montana outdoors including hunting and fishing.
